THE FUTURE

Only time will tell,
Who will stand or fall.
Only fate will tell,
Who lived well or fell.

Will you give us your gifts,
Pure, sweet and full of peril?.
Will you patiently wait for us,
With a story of joy or chaos?.

You are to vast to swallow.
You are like a tiny insect,
Amid the green cluster of meadow,
Too tiny to catch with one's fingers.

You are like the rain we see from afar;
A current riding on an uncertain wind.
And we do not know what you will bring,
A rain for growth or a storm to blunder and mar?

You are a shadow cast over our heads,
That has been beaten by the sunny heat.
You are also the hope we dearly rely on,
To bring growth to our toil and hardwork.
