THE SILENCE I RUN AWAY FROM

The bells are ringing–
The choirs are singing
And suddenly,
There is silence.

The silence that sadness brings
Strangle my sense of faith
And creates room for fear.

The silence that depression brings
Kill my sense of creativity
And opens my mind to worry.

The silence that laziness brings
Make success to run away from me
At a pace I never imagined.

This quiet hours I avoid–
For when they come,
My joy dissolves.
And melts into thin air.

And so, as snow fears sunlight
So do I fear this silence–
For this silence only brings death.

Let me find silence in sleep,
I will enjoy every moment of it.
But when I am awake, I will measure
My growth that I may become better.
