He came to dwell on earth green,
Through the vessel of a virgin
That the prophecy might be fulfilled,
And that many may hear and believe in him.

As time goes on, he became a grown man
Who taught us to pray with our two hands.
He knew the beginning of his own end
Will come from the lips of a friend.

The cross did he carry on his weary shoulders
That he may break the chains of sin asunder.
The thorns and nails; they buried in his body,
And the pain, he did bear, for us to be free.

He did what no man could have done,
For mankind, both right and wrong,
And now,  I see the true meaning of the day,
In the love he showed us in his own way.
