THE JOY OF THE HEART

“A feeling of extreme of happiness or cheerfulness”

One of the most important thing that adhere us to the presence of the lord is the joy that comes from within. When you are full of joy as a Christian, you will be happy when your present situation is not perfect. We must never lose the faith that our tomorrow will be better than our present situation.

I have come to the realization that when God works on a Christian life, he starts from within. We must not always look at the physical things that surrounds us, ready to lead us astray from the presence of God (Isaiah 37:31). The problems of life denies us access to the presence of God.

When you are joyful, the worries and strife of life will have no hold on your life. When you dwell on the mistakes you have made, it deteriorates your body physically and your spirit spiritually. The joy of Christ can help you to happy, carefree, and cheerful even when you are surrounded by problems all around, because it comes from above, and the things that comes from above are always good and divine.

Jesus is the bridge, the foundation to stand upon, and the door that leads to that realm of happiness. We sometimes dwell on our mistakes or a bygone moment, believing another decision will have provided a better results, it might and it might not, but the truth we have to know  is that time cannot be reversed and rewound. Live in the future, you can decide what happens in the future, your power or superior intellect cannot change the past. We can be happy when the storm is strong and sky is dark because we have faith and thoroughly convinced that after the rain, the sun is still going to shine bright.

The joy of the lord is faith-based. It comes from within. If you don’t believe, you will end up frustrated and angry with your savior and everything that surrounds you. Learn to value the things that surrounds you, find joy and comfort in all the good things he has done, because when you thank him for that, he knows your heart and is capable of doing great and mighty things that your wildest imagination has not fantasized about.

Nothing need to change in your life before you start to bask in the joy of the Lord. You need to believe in his promises and reassurances and claim them by faith (2 Corinthians 7:4). But for this to be possible, you need to ask God to reconstruct your mind to see the grace, glory, loving kindness and power of his eminence, because without a changed perspective, you will continue to doubt, thereby depriving yourself of the things of the spirit.

While you are going through your trial, you can recall your past victories and count the blessings that you do have with a sure hope of greater ones to follow if you are faithful – Ezra Taft Benson.

You need the joy of Christ to the live the Christian life, it is not always pleasant. Joy is essential to bear and withstand the burdens of life. Joy is the lubricant of a Christian life, because we all have heartaches and difficulties.

In order to have the joy of the God that only he can give, we need to surrender to him, to depend on him, we need to find rest in his presence, we need to continually obey his commandments, we need to discover our formula to always rejoice in his presence and as we live our daily for him.

Dear friend, without genuine joy, your life is meaningless, so do not let worries, persecution, temptations, things on earth to take away your joy and may the good lord help you to always see his beauty and loving kindness. Amen.
