HOW I CALMED A CHILD

"Stop crying, I will buy you candy" I said to the child as soothingly as possible while rubbing my hand on her back, or while I carry the child and rest her head on my shoulder.

I'll get her a candy, just as I said. And sometimes, licking the candy makes her keep quiet and busy herself with the candy other than crying and most times, the child will look at me with a grateful heart.

There are times the child will still be crying after I have cuddled her in my arms, So, I will then hold her tight and rock her gently, whispering soothing words into her ear, until she gradually calms down.

God does the same thing for me too, anytime I am depressed and I'm crying onto him for something. He does not leave me to the machinations of the enemy. He will carry me in the cradle of his wide arms, listen to my cry of request, calm my soul by rocking me gently and giving me peace of mind.

He answers my request just as he has promised.

And when he has answered my prayer, I always remember to be appreciative and show to him that I am grateful for what he has done for me. I hope you are grateful too.
